Co-Founder and Managing Partner
Prior to co-founding RF, Peter co-founded Tamarix Capital Partners, an SBIC Fund dedicated to providing flexible financing solutions to lower-middle-market companies, which was later merged into OFS Capital Corporation (Nasdaq: “OFS”). At OFS, he served as a Managing Director and Investment Committee member of both the SBIC Fund and the Business Development Company. Before co-founding Tamarix Capital, he held positions at Sandell Asset Management, an international multi-strategy alternative asset manager; Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm focused on control and structured equity investments in middle-market companies; imc2, a full-service interactive agency; Graham Partners, a Philadelphia-based private equity firm; and the investment banking division of Salomon Brothers.
Peter earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business where he graduated with High Honors and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Peter recently served as President of the Board of Directors at the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester, is an avid ping-pong player, and a lifelong suffering fan of the Philadelphia 76ers.

At OFS, he served as a Managing Director and Investment Committee member of both the SBIC Fund and the Business Development Company. Prior to co-founding Tamarix, he worked at Allied Capital, now Ares Capital Corporation – NASDAQ: “ARCC”), a publicly traded Business Development Company focused on making junior debt and equity investments in middle-market companies, and at LaSalle Bank N.A. in the Leveraged-Finance group. Peter also served as a Consultant to the World Bank, as well as a Presidential Intern to the National Economic Council of the White House.
Peter earned a BA in Government from Cornell University where he graduated magna cum laude and a MPP from Harvard Kennedy School. When not working, he can be found kayaking in Lake Michigan.
Blair M. Gertmenian
Prior to joining RF, Blair was a Director for more than twelve years at The Gladstone Companies. He worked with the private equity fund, Gladstone Investment Corporation (NASDAQ: GAIN) where he focused on acquiring lower middle-market companies by providing both debt and control equity. Blair was responsible for sourcing, executing, and post-close portfolio management by serving as an active Board member of numerous lower-middle-market companies. Previously, Blair was an analyst at J.P. Morgan where he worked in the Middle Market Financial Sponsor Lending Group and Global Merger & Acquisitions Group.
Blair holds a BSBA with a concentration in finance from Georgetown University, where he graduated Cum Laude.
Director of Investor Relations and Operations
Prior to RF, she worked at Brightwood Capital Advisors since inception and successfully marketed Brightwood’s two SBIC funds. She was responsible for investor relations of all funds, which represented approximately $2.5 billion of assets under management (“AUM”). Prior to Brightwood, she was a founding member of Ironbound Capital Management, a global long short equity fund with approximately $1.0 billion of AUM, where she spent 7 years. Susan was a member of the Operating Committee and led all marketing and investor communications. Earlier in her career, Ms. Kang worked in institutional equity sales management at Citigroup, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. At each of these institutions, she formed and managed Asian and Japanese equity sales desks responsible for all North American distribution. Ms. Kang began her professional career as a CPA at PricewaterhouseCoopers and later at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a senior international auditor.
Susan earned a BBA in Accounting and International Business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School.
Prior to RF Partners, Patrick served as an investment professional at Lake Capital, a Chicago-based private equity firm. He also held a variety of roles advising on transactions during his tenure at Duff & Phelps and KPMG.
Patrick is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning dual degrees with honors in both finance and accountancy. A Chicago resident, Patrick is a volunteer member of the Big Shoulders Fund Chairman’s Advisory Council.
Prior to joining RF, Tyler was an Associate for more than two years at Berkery, Noyes & Co., LLC where he worked on numerous sell-side M&A transactions across a variety of industry verticals including: Healthcare, Business Services, Software/Information, Education, and B2B Media. Previously, Tyler was a Financial Analyst at Valuation Research Corporation where he specialized in business enterprise valuations, purchase price allocations, impairment analyses, fairness opinions, and solvency opinions.
Tyler earned a B.A. in Finance and a Minor in Economics from Temple University in 2013.
Prior to joining RF, Matthew served as an investment professional at Main Street Capital Corporation (NYSE: MAIN), a principal investment firm focused on making debt and equity investments across the lower middle market. He was responsible for evaluation and execution of investment opportunities, portfolio management and marketing activities of the firm.
Matthew graduated cum laude from Trinity University with a double major in Business Administration, with concentrations in Finance and Accounting, and Economics.
Dr. Seth Flam

Executive Vice President since 2000, and heading the Alternatives Investment Group. From 1991 through 1995, Michael served as an associate in the corporate department of the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York.
Michael received a JD degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School, and a BA, magna cum laude, in Humanities from Yale University. Michael is a member of the Bar of the State of New York. He serves on the Board of Directors of Computer Logic, a former portfolio company of WHI, and the Advisory Board of Invest for Kids.
